Rwanda Governments is entrusted with the responsibility of safeguarding Rwandans citizens, maintaining law and order, and promoting the overall well-being of society. However, in many cases Rwandan government has been betrayed, leading to the tragic loss of innocent lives at the hands of their own government.
According to TV1 Michel TWAGIRAYEZU, 42 years old was shot dead by Rwandan Police officers who came at his residence in Gashanja village, Nyirataba cell, Kivuye sector, Burera district of Northern province at 2 am in the night of Thursday 30th September to Friday 31ts September 2022.
Following the killing of Michel TWAGIRAYEZU, the population of Kivuye sector reacted with in protest in front of Kivuye Health Center to show their discontent.
The residents of Gashanja village who witnessed the killing of Michel TWAGIRAYEZU informed Radio/TV1 that Rwandan Police accompanied by the village chief came to Michel’s residence during the night and forced him to open, and when he opened, he was immediately shot and died on the spot.
“The leader of village come with police unit and that leader show them where Michel lives and when he opened the door they shot and killed him and locked his wife and children in house.” Said the sister of Michel TWAGIRAYEZU.
“The policeman who killed him is known as Nkotanyi.” Confirmed another neighbor of Michel TWAGIRAYEZU.
Before this happened 4 other people killed in the same village.
